We will develop a sound approach to the game of basketball stressing fundamentals. Our style will depend on type of players for that year. We will play the style we feel will be most beneficial for all involved with input from the team captains. In general, we feel we will be most successful by playing an uptempo game with a defensive emphasis on hard-nosed man-to-man.
Success will never be achieved unless all involved have the same basic belief of the game and how it should be played. We can not expect players to make the sacrifices that will be asked of them without a total buy-in to our philosophy and the Team aspect of the game. The team is always greater than the individual.
We believe that team and self-discipline is the foundation to morale, unity, and overall success.
We believe that good basketball teams have the attitude toward unselfish play and team thinking. For us to be successful, we will need role players. Everyone has a job to do. Do it to the best of your ability.
We believe that good team basketball starts on the defensive end. Not everyone is a stellar offensive player but everyone can defend. It is a mind set. If you want to play, you have to be able to guard, give an effort, and out-work your opponent.
We believe a sound defense and an effective offense are impossible until all players are willing to sacrifice for the good of the team.
We believe in an aggressive style of basketball on both ends of the floor. We may not be the best team on the floor, but we will be the hardest working team on our schedule everyday of the season.
We believe in the ‘Big 4’: Faith, Family, Academics, and Basketball in that order. With these we will succeed both on and off the court.
We believe that if we have a great attitude, work hard, persevere, are disciplined, and control the things we can, the wins and losses will take care of themselves.
We believe that a player won’t reach their full potential unless they leave their comfort zone and elevate their effort, attitude, and leadership by not only word but action as well.
We believe that when a player graduates from Trinity High School, he will be a difference maker. Athletics are a preparation for life. He will be able to handle criticism, success, failure, and himself with confidence. Hopefully, each player should be able to leave his mark as a positive role model. It is a goal that each player will not only be a better person but a better citizen and Christian by being in our program.
