Our philosophy in the Track and Field Program of Trinity Junior High and High School is one of simplicity - every athlete is expected to do their best at every moment. In meets, there are three ways for an athlete to be successful:
1. Win your event
2. Beat your goal for the meet
3. Beat your personal record
Success will depend on the athlete. Hard work in practice, goal setting and faith will be the cornerstones of our success as a team.
Everyone is welcome to compete on the track and field team at Trinity Junior High and High School. We will try to match athletes' events with their area of interest. However, the coaching staff will have the final say in which events an athlete competes.
Ultimately our goal is to win, but the real success is not measured by the number of wins or records, but in the battle to make oneself the very best that one can be. The competition within, the struggle to improve (if only for a second or an inch), is what track and field is all about.
Our goal as track and field coaches and participants is to develop the skills, techniques, abilities, and fitness to the highest level we can. If we improve ourselves and become the competitors we are capable of becoming, then we have achieved our goal no matter what place we take. Only when we have every team member striving to reach his/her best, will we have success as individuals and as a team. When the team wins, everyone wins - athletes, coaches, family, friends, and school community - all share in the success.
